What is/was the worst time of day with your pup ?

Mine is morning ! Gone are the leisurely cups of coffee and reading of news online because it is chaos ! Nelly and Reuben cry for one another in the mornings , greeting like they haven't seen for six months and then , its like Groundhog Day ! Play , hard rough play, both giving as good as they get , for about an hour and a half , forget the news , just let it happen and be so very pleased when at last they both have had enough and rest up for a little while ! The rest of the day they just sort of knock around together , the play is more gentle, thank goodness x

Red was hard work in the evening as a puppy and that’s when I did all the work to get her and Sky together - I am so glad those days are over (and paid off) - now they both just sleep. Red likes to play with her toys between 4 and 5 and starts flinging them around a bit. She likes me to join in but she quickly gets tired so it’s no hardship 😊

I don't think there was a particular time of day at that age, just in between sleeps. Now I come to think of it though the most trying time was after a meal and having to wait for a bit to rest before going out for a walk (Maisy, not me). Our routine now is walk first then food, much easier but in the evenings after I have had dinner and want to rest I also have to put up with whining and pacing for walk time.

Ariel was full on every morning from 7-10. I’m so glad that has changed. Most mornings now she has her breakfast at 6, then takes herself back to bed around 7:00 for an hours nap before we go on our first big walk of the day.

Evenings were the worst time with Molly - 'happy hour' (2 bites for the price of one!) Large carboard boxes helped occupy her - crawling in and out of them and chewing them. Early evenings are still her most active time now, though these days it's easy to have a few games or , in the summer, an extra stroll.

Most definitely 9pm - 10pm. No matter how much exercise and stimulation he’d had, for an hour in the evening just as hubby and I were setting down in front of the TV the little fur ball whod been almost an angel all day would turn into mental puppy on speed.

Even now, at 6 years old, every now and then he has a hyper moment at about 9pm humping his vet bed, wanting to play ball or wanting belly rubs.

Pepper’s worst time was definitely the evening, he’d be manic after his dinner had hit his stomach and just wouldn’t settle.

At 10 months he now settles down about 7pm, we take him for a 10 minute walk about 8pm so he’ll pee and then he snoozes with us in the lounge until we go to bed at 11pm.

That’s assuming he’s had two walks during the day, if he hasn’t then he’s normally a complete pain in the a*** all evening!

When Kipper was tiny, it was mad activity from around 6-8, then from about 10-12, then from 5pm onwards. He’s only really started settling in the last couple of months, now it’s mainly awake time from ~ 9.30 am, then evenings from 8.30 when he wants to play :)
