My son has a stream at the bottom of the garden, this is how they are keeping cool in the heatwave. His partner is from Georgia and she has a friend visiting. BabyOne is going to have a Georgian name, we’ve been told but with our surname.

Yes, I'm lucky, the views over the valley are beautiful and I'm very pleased with the colours now. I would like to introduce more scents though, so if anyone has any hints I'm all ears.

For the evening, nicotiana and honeysuckle are beautiful scents and attract a lot of pollinating insects

Yesterday's smile was spending some time with our horse, Rosie. I've been looking after her for a few days this week while my daughter is away. I brought her up to the yard and groomed her for an hour or so, made sure she had plenty of fly repellent on and oiled her feet. She's such a sweetheart and loves all the attention.
I rarely get to do that for her, so I really enjoyed myself. Very relaxing, and takes my mind off other things.

This has made me smile this morning - a present from my lovely granddaughter for taking her to school and picking her up this year. For various reasons, I have been doing this for several years and it will continue next year. It is quite a commitment as her school is 6 miles away but it’s not every day and I do it willingly. I have said to her it’s our special time together . We are going to see The Lion King later at the cinema
