I’m excited - we are popping to Berlin for a meal at the end of January!

My son is going there for his birthday meal and invited us - OH said ‘why not?’ So we’ve booked two nights in central Berlin!

(My other son is an easyJet pilot so we get friends and family rates. So the flights are costing peanuts. The hotel is costing a small fortune!)

Woooop!

It's getting dark, the rain is lashing against the windows, the wind is howling round the house, and it's just brought back a memory that has made me smile:
Many years ago when I hadn't lived here long, a friend from London came to stay for the weekend. I took her to Haworth to visit the Bronte Parsonage. As we were leaving I asked if she'd enjoyed it. 'Oh yes!' she replied, 'The sound effects were fantastic!' 'What sound effects?' I asked, mystified. 'The wuthering wind recordings' she said. I had to break it to her that those were not sound effects/recordings, this noise is the backdrop to our winters here (quite often to our Springs, Summers and Autumns as well!) I still love it though, particularly in the winter when all the walking and being outside for the day is done and the fire is lit, with me and a snoozy Labrador infront of it.:inlove:

I smiled today when we were at the off-lead beach and Maxx spotted a woman just about to give her dog a treat. He pushed in between her and her dog, executed a perfect sit and gazed up at her adoringly with his tongue hanging out! She asked if she could give him one and of course we said yes. Then he trotted off with them as though they were his new parents - until OH whistled. He turned and raced back to us, executed a perfect sit and gazed up adoringly, waiting for his treat

He's not stupid B)
