What made you smile today?

That's very good news Emily_Babbelhund, I'm so glad for you.

My biggest smile for a while was last evening when I was snoozing in front of the telly, log fire flickering.
Molly was in her 'sitting room' basket (she has about 4 beds in various rooms) when Biggles the big ginger puss jumped up onto the arm of my chair. Her Jealousness wouldn't have that and came bounding out of her basket to scrabble past Biggles, lie across me and try to push him off the arm of the chair. Needless to say, Biggles looked at her with contempt and ignored her

I think that may well be because the cognitive tests to help identity dementia that have proved to be most accurate take much longer than a standard GP appointment. I used to spend a good hour/ hour and a half with the person and family before I felt I had enough information, often we sent for further testing. I have known the process take a year or more.
You’re spot on @Candy - and the ‘brief’ assessments currently used aren’t very quick anyway so don’t fit well into a standard 8-10 min GP appointment. A lot comes down to the individual doctor and what time/experience/interest they have.

Yet another wet walk, warned little Joy that she might not find any dogs to play with today:hmm: but still we went to our usual field, ever hopeful.
There they were! Two other Labs, a Dalmation and two Vizlers, all friends of Joy's, all racing around in the pouring rain having a hooley. They were accompanied (somewhat shrilly) by Bungle, a chihuahua-papillon cross, who doesn't play but likes to referee. All these lovely dogs have similar temperaments and styles of play (apart from Bungle, but no-one takes any notice of him). As for us hoomans, we stood around laughing at our dogs and discussing the best waterproofs and dog drying equipment. I have come to so much love and appreciate our local dog walking community, out in all weather, always up for a chat and a bit of banter, always concerned about how each other are. A fine start to any day!:sun:

Today Quinn reconvened with our morning dog group and she was like a little jumping deer, so happy. I laughed that she growled in a game of tug the stick...who is this weird dog who never makes a sound!? Must bepent up energy...made me laugh!

I smiled yesterday, as I always do when I arrive home from work, at Maxx who as soon as he hears the front door open bounds down the carpeted stairs two at a time and gives me the most enthusiastic 'welcome home'. He no longer jumps up (at me, everyone else yes) but he squirms and pushes through for reverse middles (where he goes between my legs head first for a scratch just above his tail) then a middle then a reverse middle etc, then a few head nuzzles and lots of kisses.

Just had the most fantastic walk with Harley where she could run free in the fields and wooded areas as there were next to no dogs around. It was great to just see her run and enjoy herself. We played hide n seek, find the ball and chasing ea h other. She met 2 new dogs and was so relaxed it was great.
