What made you smile today?

My Grandmother died aged 46 with a cerebral aneurism and my Father died aged 69 with an aortic aneurism. Heaven help me with genes like this. I do hope @snowbunny your friend stays ok. What treatment?
I'm not exactly sure. Julie has been keeping us updated as she can, but she's obviously been quite fraught and having to keep running her business etc. I hope we'll be able to Skype soon. I know he was in an induced coma for a while, but he's a young, strong guy, and generally pretty fit, so hopefully he'll go from strength to strength now.

He will need the aneurism mended, usually with a stent these days.

I guess that's been done already, if they've sent him home? I'm totally clueless, I'm afraid! I'm sorry you lost your family members so young, but I think it's clear you don't have those genes. You're made of stern stuff, Sonia!! :inlove:
I think they either clip them off or "coil" them via a vein somewhere and using scans. Or that's what they do on the telly anyway

And I second the stern stuff Sonia thoughts.

We sort of met Santa 😊
That's flipping terrifying. Rory is a tough customer!

I never went to visit Santa as a kid. My mom thought it was creepy and I agreed. But I used to take my dogs to "Santa Paws" as every year some shelter or rescue group would have a photo shoot fundraiser. My favorite year was with Brogan (Rottweiler), Jodhi (Pitbull) and Tavish (evil toy poodle). They were quite the little canine gang: poor Santa looked like he was going to wet himself.

I have a feeling Santa would have been happier if I'd come in with a Golden Retriever. :giggl:

My friend in Reno sent me a bunch of photos of her Christmas decorations as I told her I needed some holiday cheer. She does amazing decorations for every season but of course Christmas is the blow out. She changes nearly everything in her house: drapes, bedding, door mats, light fixtures, house plant pots, dishes, etc. The only thing I'm surprised about is that she's not (yet) decorated Louis!

Thank god I'm not the only one. I always found it uncomfortable trying to get into the whole Santa thing with my two. As a kid I was frightened by the thought of this old man with a big white beard wandering around the house at night. We lived in a big remote house at the time and being the youngest by a country mile I was up there for hours before anyone else went to bed. It was such a relief one Christmas Eve when I woke up and found Mum and Dad filling the pillow slips :cwl:

I once took my son to see him, pre school I think, I can see him now studying his face very intently and coming back to me saying" he's got that beard held on with some elastic you know!" :cwl:

OMG, you just reminded my that Mum used to change our curtains for Christmas! WHO DOES THAT?! :cwl:
Omg we don't even have a topper for our tree so J put a particularly cheerful sock on it...

One of my dearest friends is pregnant enough to go public, after a LONG struggle to get to this point. She has overcome so many struggles in her life and doesn't get bogged down. I'm so happy for her.
