I'm feeling very pleased with myself. I asked my stepdaughter Mel what she and her husband would like for Christmas and all she asked for was a laundry basket. Whilst I have no problem with that in itself I really felt that I wanted to give them something a bit more special as well. I considered getting them a gift token for a very nice local restaurant, but then I thought that no- one knows when or even if it will be opening again, so probably not the best idea. Yesterday I did a bit of looking around online and found The Sowerby Bridge Supper Club. It's run by a local chef and they deliver restaurant quality food to your door. It also had really good reviews. I rang them and asked if they did gift vouchers and was told that they could send one via email. Well, I might be a bit old fashioned here, but when I give a Christmas present I like it to be something wrapped up to go under the tree. I explained this to the very helpful (and probably very young) woman on the phone, who said she understood where I was coming from and could she have a word with her boss and get back to me.
Well, bless her, she rang back thisafternoon and they have arranged to have gift vouchers printed on good quality card and will post them out! She said this option was just being added to their website and if I logged on after about 3.30 today I should be able to order one and please to ring her back if I had any problems. How's that for service? So now I have ordered one (very easy to do) and Mel and Marcus have a lovely treat to look forward to in the New year. I have been really impressed with how helpful the supper club has been and will probably give them a go myself some time!
