I finish my current job tomorrow and have a week off before I start the new one. Hooray! So we are taking Maxx to my sister's beach house 2 hours down the coast on Saturday for about 4-5 days and it's right next to a dog friendly beach.

The weather Gods are giving us a final burst of summer for the first 3 days

I will officially be an unemployed beach bum!! and finally have time to catch up on all your news because right now I'm doing 12-14 hour days to try and get everything done

I looked up from my iPad.a few minutes ago and saw Sky play bowing to Red - this is the first time she has play bowed in her 12 years!!!! She’s never been interested in other dogs but this relationship she has with `Red is very very special ❤😊. They played for less than a minute which was enough for her. Red who is always up for a play with other dogs was so gentle with her 😊

Living near a canal, most of our walks involve at least some towpath. Because of this I have always taught our dogs to sit and stay when bikes are passing. Little Joy now takes this VERY seriously (because she's a GoodGirl). Recently she has started (mostly) sitting without being asked to when she sees a bike coming. Today she was constantly on the look out for bikes and was sitting as soon as she saw one. On long straight stretches the bikes were sometimes a long way away, a hundred yards or so, but Joy would not be moved, she sat, very hard and stayed. She stared and stared at me, also very hard, as if she was saying "See? I'm Being Good!" The closer the bikes came, the more she licked her lips in anticipation of a reward. It took us ages to get anywhere! It did make me smile though.:heart:

I set up a long recall on our evening walk. Nothing technically hard at all, but a long way - about 250m. I blew my whistle, and the Labs all shot towards me at mach 10 - and so did Ginny, as fast as her three little legs could manage! She had to have a couple of rests en route, but she eventually arrived, grinning from ear to ear. She definitely deserved her dried chicken foot :)
