Joy now appears to understand the word 'friend '
I quite often say to her, when we see people and dogs who she likes 'Here are our friends!'
Today as we arrived at the field where we usually meet dogs who she enjoys playing with, I said 'I wonder if we'll see any friends' and she ran off wagging in the direction from which her friends usually arrive, but there was no-one there. Then I saw Mabel, a sweet little Yellow Lab arriving from the opposite direction. I said 'Joy, here's a friend!' and she whirled round, looking the way I was pointing, then went charging off to greet Mabel. I was chatting with Mabel's hoomans as we threw a ball for both dogs. We were talking about what beautiful sunny weather we've been having lately and I said ' I hope it lasts into next week, I have a friend coming to stay and it would be nice to have good weather for walking ' Joy picked up again on 'friend ', looking around as if to see who was arriving now! Such a lovely word for her to understand and aren't our dogs clever?!

@Candy what a clever girl  I fine it amazing to realise how many words they know and recognise . Most mornings , I will ask Paul if he would like a slice of toast , up come Reubens ears and into the kitchen he goes xxx
Yes! One of Joy's jobs (she has many!) Is to help me with grated cheese (this involves her eating the bits of Parmesan rind that I put in her bowl) She can be asleep upstairs and I only need to say 'I wonder if there's anyone to help with this CHEESE!' ......and sure enough, here she comes, charging downstairs, always ready to help!🧀:dug::heart:

Candy Maxx is the same if we say 'Who's coming?' or 'Here's Margo' (his favourite girlfriend) or 'Here's Archie' etc. He whirls around looking in every direction

He understands so many phrases. If it is dentastick time (he reminds us) we say 'fetch your bone' and he goes looking for his black Kong bone. If he can't find it we can say 'it's on the deck' and he charges out the back door and around to the deck to find it. If he brings me a toy and I'm busy I'll say 'take it to Dad' and off he trots to find Steve. Just. So. Clever

That's so cute! Clever boy Maxx.

I always laugh at the fact that Chewie knows the difference between someone saying his name and someone saying "for Chewie" because the latter means he will be getting something! When he hears that he always perks up a bit, even if it's just his ears.

What made me smile today was my little crazy child, right at bedtime asking me "mummy, mummy, what's gravity?" Omg. The timing.

I've been having a bit of a cleaning frenzy as I have a friend coming to stay today. Yesterday I did downstairs, so today it was upstairs, starting with the bathroom. I had gone over the ceiling ( how do ceilings get dusty?) with what I call 'the tickling stick', which I then put out of the way on the landing while I tackled the rest. Job done, I came out of the bathroom to this!20230213_120616.jpgShe does make me laugh!🤭🥰
