What made you smile today?

Towards the end of Spring this year, several of us who regularly walk along the canal bank noticed a fairly large cygnet, ( like an adolescent swan) on its own. It was around throughout the Summer and into Autumn, always by itself, gradually turning from grey/brown to a beautiful white. I always felt sorry for it, as it seems unusual to see a Swan all alone.
Then thismorning Joy and I turned a corner and this is what we saw20241022_112341.jpgWhich has kept me smiling all day!:sun:

I was feeling desperately sad for the lone swan so it was absolutely lovely to see the pair together, so cheering :sun:

As you may know , my sister and husband are not doggy type people , their lives are so different to ours. I have been critical in the past but then realised that we are not all made the same and I should not hold her attitude against her . Reubens operation was very expensive and sadly not covered by his new insurance but we paid it gladly . My sister had asked how he was doing which surprised me as she seemed to really care and then this morning I received a letter with a cheque for half his bill . The letter said that she feels guilty about being less than caring about our dogs in the past and now realises how much they mean to us and hopes that we will accept this gift in the manner in which is was given . I must admit to tears , completely bowled over , the ties that bind comes to mind xxx
