Welcome Duncan you delicious chunk!

We got back from a family holiday in Canberra yesterday and it was so much fun. We just did kid things. Science museums, bike riding, the zoo. Rowan was so happy and we were super relaxed as well. View attachment 44454
What a fabulous photo! It sounds like a great holiday in Canberra, you all look relaxed and happy so it clearly did the job ❤

How do you keep them all under control? We have dog walkers around here and some can't keep them under control, some are excellent.
We have had most of those dogs for over a year and a half, some 2 years.. so they are very aware of how the pack works (Oreo is boss lady). They all tend to stick together and don't stray far from us at all. All our dogs get let off the lead too!
The big yellow lab was only on his second walk with us! He seems to fit in very well and is a verygoodboy :celebrate:

@SwampDonkey, welcome to Flat Coat world. I have known numerous ones over the years as have friends with them. They are lively and clowns and loveable. The only sad thing is they tend to have cancer at around 7 years old.
Not all this line is ok. My families flat coat lived to 14 and a friend's flatty to 11. They do have issues but so do a lot of breeds, they have a lot issues shared with labs. This was a great opportunity for me sometimes you just have to do it. They are the sweetest of dogs

Yes, all my friends love the breed so much that they are prepared to take the risk. My near neighbour is a retired vet (she is only in early 60s, went deaf unfortunately) she researched the lines of her two and thought they would be fine, one has had a sarcoma which was operated on and with luck she will be fine.
