Anyway I was about to make some coffee, so I asked if she'd like some, and some flapjack, and we sat in my garden to have this. I asked her if she thought I could grow dahlias, given that it's nearly all patio with pots, and she said if I just put a bit more compost in my raised beds they'd do well there.

She then said she always had too many tubers and will bring me some next Spring if I'd like.
I feel lucky to have such lovely neighbours and am really looking forward to having a try at dahlias next year!
