Willow is such a diva. She got off the sofa, went over to the dog bed by the window, but just stood there, head down, with a hang-dog expression. In the end, J got up to move the Kong that was on it. As soon as he did, she climbed on and curled up. She could have easily done it herself but, no, she has staff for that sort of thing!

I’ve been to the park with my friends and their kids today. Was so lovely!

I think they thought I exaggerated how much Rory eats though. They were howling at him sat in the middle of all the snacks shoving them in

Our village is planning a Fete Day , when restrictions allow . The village pub has a huge garden and massive car park , landlady has offered the beer garden for market type stalls . We have lots of veg growers in the village , plus a bee keeper who produces his own fabulous honey . One lady makes the most fabulous jams and chutneys , lots of people have chickens so eggs will be on offer plus local lamb and beef not forgetting crafts . It may be some time off yet but its given us all something to look forward to and smile about x

My two lovely step daughters are going to come and sit in the garden for a chat on Wednesday evening, weather permitting. There is a side gate, so no need for them to come through the house, which means it will still be OK for Little Brother and Jenny to come for the weekend. So much to look forward to suddenly, after all this time. GGJ is going to be beside herself with happiness!

Molly is another dowager duchess. She has a dog bed upstairs but downstairs 'only' has the sofa which we keep covered with a blanket. When it gets disarranged she has recently taken to standing forlornly next to it, resting her chin on the seat until one of us straightens the blanket and makes it all smooth again. (Then she immediately hops up!)

My son was like that as a toddler. Come to think of of there's not much change 26 years later!

Benson and Bramble went out for a lovely walk with me today. Super tolerant joggers were out in force, just as well as Benson has developed a habit of trotting out in a odd zig zag fashion. You see the joggers smile, then frown slightly as they try to navigate past him.

His piece de la resistance though today...."Watch out for the brown one!" I call out in a friendly fashion to a young couple jogging. He and his partner smile, the young chap swivels his head in my direction...unfortunately at the moment Benson "zags". What followed looked liked something out of Monty Pythons funny walks, how he managed to stay up I don't know.
They both laugh it off, and Benson gets a nice pat. You know, just to reinforce his behaviour. We wander off, with Benson on high alert for his next victim. Gotta love him!

Somewhere outside thisevening, can't tell just where, there are people sitting outside, playing guitars and singing. Something not heard round here for a while and lovely. Just hope they're doing it sensibly.......

Been shooting. All restrictions here are lifted so we can now go in the clubhouse & enjoy tea & coffee and a chinwag. Being such a small island there is little chance to see/hold/try guns before you buy & I was able to let a young woman have a look at my gun - which has a lady's stock. She & her dad were so chuffed to be able to get a feel of it..I think he may buy one for her.

You could have been describing Ella! She will even star until you rearrange the cushions on the couch so that she can rest her head at the right height.

Nathan ate dinner after us tonight (I had to cook him some pasta after the curry I made was too spicy).

Suddenly I couldn't see Ella and asked where she was.

"It's ok Mummy, she's over here with me. I dropped a bit of pasta but she's cleaning my pants and the floor for us"

Cassie made me smile last night -- she clearly was having trouble with her left ear, there was lots of head shaking and scratching it with her hind foot. When I called her over to investigate, she walked across the room and placed her left ear right into the palm of my open hand -- how sweet was that?

I was a bit worried as we had walked through a field of grass waiting to be cut for hay, many seeds just at her ear level. Happily she's fine this morning, no sign of any discomfort at all.
