Ha ha...yes a very sadly neglected fire pit that we hardly ever use. Either it’s too wet or too many mosquitos, or when it’s nice we just don’t think of it. Oh well....@Lisa, is that a fire pit in your garden? And what are the two pipes? Have you been organising ferret racing in your spare time?!
The “ferret runs” are part of our “keep the water away from the house and out of the basement” strategy. They are extensions from the eaves sending the water across the lawn- you can’t see from this pic but from where I’m standing taking the pic the lawn slopes down to the fence so we’re trying to direct the water that way.
Mind you with the amount of rain we’re getting this summer I don’t think anything will work. We’ll be floating away soon....

My 9 year old granddaughter came yesterday afternoon. She was playing ball with Red in the garden. Red was absolutely loving it - like a puppy prancing about with excitement and joy. Then my granddaughter starting asking her to sit stay and hiding the 
. Then she would send her to find it. It really made me smile seeing Red sat so patiently awaiting her instructions. Also made me rather proud of both my granddaughter for being such a lovely girl and my dog for doing exactly what was requested of her

Two reasons to smile . One being that when Anna collected Reuben this morning , she told me that he has a new love in his life , a one year old black Labrador called Izzy , she had her first session last week and they fell in love with one another , how sweet x The other reason is that I`m having my hair cut on Monday, bring it on x
