What made you smile today?

Yes! I love flexi time!

Mainly working from home until they see how things pan out with covid. Then I might need to be in the office a few days but can work from home the rest.
Yes, will it mainly be for tribunals, etc? Our LA took on a solicitor recently in children's services, the amount they were paying out in legal fees to external companies for defending action( children not given EHCPs, placements, additional funding for SEND etc, ) it was far cheaper for them to take on someone in house.

It’s a bit of a mix really. Mainly child protection with a bit of adoption work thrown in.

As awful as it is, it’s a good area for me to get into as it’s a necessary area and there are always a decent amount of jobs around.

Yep, a growing area unfortunately. But better they employ people directly with decent jobs than spend loads paying private firms topslicing a profit first and foremost

Congratulation on the job and a pay rise. Not an easy area to be in as some things wont be pleasant to deal with, but interesting though.
Enjoy your spare time until you start your job

Thismorning Joy upped the taking a slipper game a notch. I sat up in bed and looked for my slippers. Not one there! Both gone! "Joy" I called, "Where are my slippers?" Little face appeared, saying "Who? Me? What?" "My slippers! Find them!" I said. Trot trot trot to her landing bed. Prance prance prance back with one slipper for me. "Thankyou! ..... Now the other one! Find other slipper!" Trot trot trot...... Prance prance prance, so Veryvery pleased with herself and flung slipper number two down at my feet with a triumphant flourish! Lots of cuddles and fuss! I just love the playfulness and sense of humour she seems to be developing. Starts my day off with a smile!:inlove:

Yesterday I took care of my two grandchildren of my oldest son. He was still not feeling very well, and slowly starting work again. Fever was gone, aches also, but not quite fit.

So I had my two grandchildren of 4 and 2 years old. I asked my daughter in law if the little one needed to sleep at midday. No she said. So I took them to a playground, we walked Finn, we had lunch and played with LEGO. Then we went to a children’s animal farm and after that to a nature playground where I let them play and get dirty. When we came home they had a bath and we had diner. At 6pm I took them home. We have had so much fun!! On the way home the little boy of 2 fell asleep and we couldn’t get him awake. So his mum put him down to sleep and this morning I heard he slept till 8 am today. Non stop....Perhaps I’ve overdone it a bit....
