What made you smile today?

During my used Seasalt eBay addiction during the first lockdown, I got a very cheap, very used short yellow sailor-type jacket which I loved - perfect for dog walks and such a cheerful yellow that it just made me happy every time I wore it. But I discovered that the darn thing was just too short. I didn't realise how much I like to sit on wet sand with Carbon, though I'm sure @Beanwood could have reminded me as I forced her to do it too last year.

Anyway, Seasalt doesn't make these anymore and I really wanted the long version to cover my posterior. I'm not exactly a common size, so I've been lurking and lurking on eBay and finally...bingo! I hit that "Buy it Now" button like a flash and now it's on its way to me from up north.

My dream to look like a Minion is fulfilled! 😂

Yesterdays smile (very big) was someone, I don't know who, towards the end of the vaccination clinic ordered fish and chips or sausage and chips for all staff and volunteers. It was wonderful to be given a box of hot food as I walked out into the cold dark January night, I ate most of it as I waited for my car to defrost as the snow we'd had turned to rain and it was covered in sheet ice by that time.

I didn't even know I felt hungry until then, goodness me they were good chips, not greasy at all. And a super fishcake. I saved some for Cassie to have with her breakfast. :)
This actually bought tears to my eyes (in a very good way)

Every morning Holly leaps off the bed the instant that one of us stirs. She knows its time for her breakfast.

This morning Ruth got up, made breakfast, made Holly’s breakfast and turned on the radio. Holly remained fast asleep and lying full length along my legs and back. I rolled over and tickled behind her ears. No reaction. I leaned over and whispered ’breakfast’ and she stood up, jumped off the bed and trotted downstairs.

I got all my new masks a couple days ago, gave them a good wash, stuck new filters in, adjusted the straps and now they are ready to go. I'm hardly wearing them here in Cornwall as I don't go out much, but these will be great when I'm back in Regensburg this summer and having to wear a couple different masks a day. It may sound a bit nuts, but just having new masks that fit so nicely and aren't nearly destroyed from so many washes is strangely satisfying. AND the TARDIS mask hanging in the TARDIS gives me a chuckle. 😊

I have been wanting a garden shed and a covered log store for a while now. A friend was going to build them for me but he had to finish fitting a kitchen for the friends who were flooded last year and trying to put things in place to reduce their risk of flooding again. This all took a long time as the people who did the repairs when they were flooded in 2015 apparently didn't do a good job, so he had to undo much of what they had done.
Anyway he got the drawings and costing to me last week and he started work thismorning! He's got lots of really good ideas and is going to put water butts in for me, a transparent roof on the shed so I can use it for over wintering plants and all sorts of other things. I'm really excited about it and pleased that he's finally started !🔨⚒

That's great @Candy something to look forward to. My Mother shed use to have a transparent roof. She use to start off her seeds in there before planting the plants outside. Lots of photos please when finished
