What made you smile today?

My sister goes home to Berkshire tomorrow , and actually its been fine . We have very little in common but she can be very kind , in fact she has bought me a beautiful pair of Hotter ankle boots  Apart from having to put Reuben in the bedroom a couple of times, its gone very well indeed , I would have let him join us except that my brother in law is 88 and recently had a stroke , he is quite doddery now so the thought of a Reuben greeting filled me with horror  All in all its been the best visit we have had with them both and I do appreciate her wanting to come and see her kid sister xx

So glad the visit went well Kate

I am already in a high-stress state thinking about a family visit here on 5/12. 10 adults and two toddlers after nearly a year without any visitors other than my Dad. My sister and my great-niece are afraid of big dogs and Maxx is going to turn himself inside out (after trying to kiss everyone on the face). He is such a good boy except for the 'noo frend' excitement that we have not been able to train out of him :(

I'm so glad it all went well Kate. I understand that the relationship is probably very different, but I always appreciate time with my Little Brother so much, not just for his(bantering but easy) company, but for the fact that we shared a childhood and an upbringing and we continue to share very fond memories of our parents. I find it a very precious bond, despite/ because of all the teasing.

Might a few pre-stuffed and frozen Kongs be an idea? He's such a good and loveable soul, but I understand your concerns as I'm sure we all do, and really hope it goes well.xxx

Oh yes, we will be fully armed with distractions. He's fine once he gets over the initial OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

We are going out today to our local dog friendly cafe to celebrate his birthday and our 29th wedding anniversary. There is a chunky chicken kong already frozen and ready :)

Red is shedding at the moment (even though we are going into winter). I vacuumed 3 times on Friday as we had visitors and I couldn’t bear for them to wade through all the hair……and she’d been brushed outside. I have to keep smiling 🙂 as I’d rather have her than no hair (but it is a chore)
I thought we have it bad as we have to vacuum every other day at the moment... There's dog hair eeeeeeverywhere.
