What made you smile today?

We had a small party last night. Every year (apart from last year) Sowerby Bridge has a Winterlight Festival which happens along the lane that runs below our house ( this is perhaps difficult to understand if you haven't seen where we live, we are on a very steep hillside, Mags@boogie will know what I mean) Anyway, the festival starts at about 4pm, just as it's getting dark and concludes at about 6pm with an absolutely stunning firework display which is set off almost directly opposite our garden, but much lower down, which means we just get the best view ever. I have taken to inviting a few family and friends around to watch, have some nice food, a few drinks and generally a good time. We couldn't do it last year, but last night we did and how wonderful it was to have a house full of people again, (although we were mostly in the garden) I have always felt that this house is a party house, and little Joy was absolutely in her element, loving all the company and watching the fireworks alongside us all. It's a bit of work to organize, but Oh! It did make me smile, laugh, and feel so happy to have a house full of people enjoying themselves again!:clap:

OH. He bought a new carpet cleaner a while back. He bought 3 bottles of shampoo at the same time. The is always a mighty palaver when he gets home before me and finds Meg-Sick. Instead of just scrubbing it like i do, he has to get the (rather heavy) carpet cleaner out of the loft & shampoo half the hall, retching all the while. He ran out of shampoo this week. "Where's the other bottles?" Well I'd say either in the garage or the loft or you've used it all. "No...they are nowhere and I haven't used all 3. You have hidden them". Eh? He ordered 3 more. He's just gone up in the loft for I don't know what. I remember saying to him back when he bought the machine "Put the spares in the loft, next to it so you know where they are. So I venture up the ladder after him. And there they are. Just at the edge of the passage-through-the-junk. "Well they are NOT next to the machine!" Well, dearest, that's because you have decided to store everything around the hatch instead of putting it back where it came from. OH 0 - Me 1
