What made you smile today?

I met two lovely doggy folks when out with Ted yesterday. One of them we chatted for about 20 minutes while the dogs played. I hope I meet her again.

I feel in need of an in-person friend.

Another ex-puppy raider who I get on well with online is moving to the village (ooops - town!) in January. But I mustn’t come over as too desperate. I feel like I’m in the dating game in my quest for a friend to have the occasional chat and coffee with!

I fully understand the need for an in-person friend, online can be good but it's not quite the same! I also understand the feeling of not wanting to come over as too desperate, but really you have so much to offer as a friend, as well as being interesting to chat with that I don't think you need worry about that! One of my closest friends now is Fiona, who I met through dog walking, so you've got a good start there, also I would think you've made another good move by starting to go to your local church and I would think that with Christmas coming up there could be a lot of opportunities to get involved there, so don't worry, friendships are out there just waiting to happen, I'm sure.xxx:hug::nod:

The sad thing is when the dog (my dog!) gets arthritis and can not walk very far, then the dog walking friends can't be expected to curtail their walks. Through the years of dog walking, I have made many friends and groups dog walking, but now older, that joy is going, or indeed has gone.

Sorry to hear this Sonia. I understand that your dog walking friends can hardly be expected to curtail their walks, but maybe they could come round for a cup of tea or coffee some time? Just a thought.....

I have asked for a physio referral and am due for a telephone consultation with a physio tomorrow morning.
Do you need a referral to see a physio? That is different here, I just call my physio who is at the top of my street and make an appointment. He determines if scans are required but honestly my guy has fixed my neck, lower back, calf, both knees, wrist (carpal tunnel), achilles and I forget what else - all without a referral.
I really hope they can sort this sciatica out asap @Candy. My sister had it for years and said it was just awful

I cooked some bacon and sausages they were out of date so were for the dogs. Rory and Iver had a piece of bacon. Rory knew there was loads left so he's been staring at me and parading round in a very significant way. He's hilarious he's stopped now. He hates when there's spare food hanging around.

They are busy as am I! It is the walking with a friend I miss, though I do have a short walk with one girl and sometimes we bump into the farmer with his 6 Labs so there are often 8 dogs altogether as we stop for a chat. But I do miss the long walks round the farm and on the hills as the others go off.

Yes, I do too. Although I occasionally walk with another friend, I don’t do the regular walks that I used to do and don’t like taking the dogs for country walks by myself. The friend I walked with regularly moved to Devon several years ago, but we walk our dogs together when I go to Devon or when she comes here. Another close friend hasn’t wanted to walk since Covid began, although we‘ve started to have the occasional walk again now. Unfortunately things change…

I’m dog sitting a chocolate lab this weekend, her name is Koko. She’s very sweet and she’s brought back some life into my quiet little home, even if only for a few days.

But this is what made me smile and cry all at the same time. I checked my pet camera to see where she decided to lay down because she got off the couch with me. I found her laying in the EXACT same spot Axel always lied in if he wasn’t curled up with me. Granted his bed was always there, I moved it today in to the living room so she could be with me. But she went off and chose his exact spot 😭❤ I believe he was laying there keeping us company and she went off to join him 🥰
