Excellent! Well done! When do you start?
They said it will take about 1.5 to 2 weeks to get the paperwork done and the IT all set up (lap top, access etc). It is in superannuation which I have never done in my 40 years of working so that is very daunting, but it sounds interesting and the people I have spoken to are lovely. I guess even at 59 you are never too old to learn new tricks right? :cwl:

Does this mean you get a regular salary rather than working as a contractor? Ooh, exciting times!! Huge congratulations, they’re very fortunate to have you B)

Thanks everyone

I came within millimetres of accepting a permanent role with my old bank but then the consulting company countered with a day-rate contract (which I much prefer) that I would be silly to turn down. They said I have the exact unique experience needed for this role (that terrified me frankly, but let's see). At this stage of my career/life, with only 1-2 years before I want to retire from banking and head north with Steve and Maxx to start a little food business, my priority is to sock as much money into superannuation and savings. We are going to buy a campervan and tour Australia in the too-hot summer months in far north Qld

But we do still keep saying we want to go back to Scotland and maybe northern England......

That sounds really ideal (job) and what great plans for your next stage! What kind of food business would you like to start?

I had a special birthday (75th) during last week and have been very spoilt by friends and family. Yesterday some of the family took us out to lunch. 5 of my 6 lovely grandchildren are here. We had a huge round table which makes chatting so much easier. It was a carvery meal and I had a delicious nut roast
