I'm going to be away for four nights next month, on a trip down South with my brother and his wife to visit the only remaining one of my parents' friends who is still living, now well into his 90s. It means a long car journey, several stops in places that are unfamiliar to Joy and although she would have been fine with this a few years ago when she still had her sight, I felt it would now be quite a lot for her to cope with, so have booked Nadia, her very much loved dog sitter to come and stay with her.
Thisevening Nadia contacted me to say that she understands Joy's sight has deteriorated further since she last looked after her and she thought it might be a good idea if she came over before I go away so that she can see what I'm doing differently as far as guiding her around on walks goes. She added that there would be no extra charge for this, although a cup of tea and a biscuit with a chance for extra Joy cuddles would be appreciated.
I feel so very lucky to have found someone this kind, caring and thoughtful to look after my girl when I'm away, also someone who Joy is so, well....overjoyed to see everytime she comes round. Good dogsitters are worth their weight in gold.
