What made you smile today?

This evening I took Molly out onto the grass verge opposite our house and a neighbour from about six doors down, who I only know to exchange 'Good mornings' with, walked up to us and said she wanted to tell me how she had watched and admired the way we had cared for Molly throughout her life, taking her for long walks/car trips twice a day for much of it, then using a platform step to help her get in the car and now that she is even finding that difficult, taking her for very short ambles along the verge several times a day. Then she gave me a packet of dog treats that she'd bought for Molly! How kind!

I walked into our living / dining room and saw what looked like bird poop on the table... I searched around, and found a frightened young blackbird behind the curtain. I managed to catch it gently using a towel, and released it outside. It flew off unharmed - phew!

Joy and I met a gorgeous young black spaniel on our walk thismorning. His name is Spook, because he was born on 31st October. This made me smile a lot, what a brilliant name! He was of course totally mad, as young spaniels are, and Joy liked him very much immediately.(She always likes Spaniels)
