Who was right ?

Mama Red HOT Pepper
Doesn't matter what age Reubs is, he behaved just fine and good for you for coming back at such a cantankerous s^**t. And I love that the people at the cafe and Paul gave him what for as well!

I've lived a lot of places considered prime holiday locations plus I'm usual solo so I've had a lot of time to observe people. My professional conclusion: it is rather amazing how consistently miserable many people on holiday are. Really, there's a whole swath of the population out there that should simply stay home. They'd be happier and the poor people they come in contact with while on their holidays would be happier as well.

I would have reacted exactly the same as you Kate, the red mist would have come down, the man had no need to swear, I would have got him for that! We met a lovely couple without a dog this afternoon, we said hello and wasn't it horrible rain and muddy and the man said 'the muddier the better" as they lived in Birmingham amongst houses and countryside was sheer bliss. I am sure if one of our dogs had gone near them they would have loved it! I feel sorry for the man you met, he must live a loveless life.

Don't let it get to you. You will always come across idiots like that. I would have been tempted to pick up some mud to shake his hand or even just walk right next to him and stamped my foot in a puddle or something. Sorry mate I am heavy footed....but no need to swear and glad he got egg on his face. Now was that poached, fried or boiled....

we get the same on the beach every now and then, and of course they make it worse when they scream in a high pitch voice. There is a group of women who walk, and one had a GR. He always says hello to Vanilla, but I remember one time Vanilla had just come out of the water their dog came bouncing over. They played and ran back to them. Vanilla was about 12months so she followed. All I heard was a scream of 'get your wet dog away from me and control it' yep no problems. As we walked away I said 'Maybe you should do the same with yours and by the way don't come to the beach at 7am when all the dogs are off leash and going for their swims, including yours if you are scared of getting a little wet.' The GR always follows behind looking miserable until it plays with a few dogs.

What a complete bastard, some people are just born unhappy, I pity them. At the same time though I would have felt like smashing him in the mush. Good for the cafe and Paul for sticking up for you - that git needs to leave the country, not just Cornwall!

People like this though just ruin your day - last week a man stroked Maisy as I was unlocking the door to the shop and said 'oh you poor thing is she making you go to work, poor dog'. I was gobsmacked, literally frozen into silence. Then the red mist descended and I wanted to thump him one, but too late he had gone. Lucky for him. I was spitting feathers for days afterward.

Gggrrrrr!!
