For the timing of the next tests, she said it needed to be at least a month, so waiting until I'm back in December is fine. She will know more after the eye swab results, too, so if we need to do something on the road, we can. I'll be visiting a friend near Nice who has two rescue dogs and knows all the good vets so we could manage.Oh this is fantastic!! As you say, either way it doesn't "really" matter, but if there's a small hope that he may be completely Leish free, that would be outstanding!! Will you be back with her in a month? Does that affect your travel plans at all? What a lucky boy young Carboncito is to have you in his corner![]()
It WILL probably affect how long he is with me, though, and be a disappointment to his potential adopters. First I said he'd be available in June, then it was September, then it was November...well, you get the idea. I need to talk to my adoption guru Kate and also get the swab results back but if this vet thinks she can get him in the clear, I'd be very much in favor of bringing him back to Germany with me in December.
But one step at a time. I think today I'm just giddy over finding such a great vet who seemed so on top of Leish. That's even hard to find in Spain! And I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much that he will turn out to be Leish-free, but it's really hard not to have a serious bounce in my step and hope in my heart.
Yeah, that sounded cheesy. I'm in a giddy, cheesy mood!
