What's the story behind you adopting her at 5 months?
We had seen an advert in a local paper about Black Lab puppies. DH rang but they had all been bought. A few months later, DH got a call to say one female had been returned through no fault of her own and were we interested. I had never had a dog before but DH had grown up with dogs so we went to view her but I let DH take the lead. I could tell immediately though that she was a nice dog. She went to DH and was so friendly. We asked if we could go somewhere on our own to talk about her. DH said she’s lovely, so we rejoined them and said we wanted her. She was with her Mum and big brother. The reason she had been returned was due to a family split - they must have been devastated to have had to return her.
The little boy of the breeder burst into tears as we took her took to the car. DH was wonderful with him, telling him, we would give her a good life and we have. We have always kept in touch with them and sadly both parents and the older brother - a very big Lab, have died. A few months after we got her, we had a reunion with most of the litter at a nearby country park. Sky is on the left at the front.
