Vet thinks it's most likely just an acute sciatica attack. She really didn't like it at all when he flexed her rear right leg back. She's never bitten anyone but I'm sure I heard her teeth click on fresh air when she lunged back at the vet ( he's very quick though!). He's put on a hefty dose of tramadol for 7 days and minimal exercise regime. Go back if she's no better. Also he says we can up the gabapentin dose if necessary and put her on longer term tramadol.

I always weigh Lady when we go to the vet (once a month at the moment). She weighed in at 29.4kg. We had a bit of time to kill so I took her out onto the exercise grass to see if I could get her to pooh and wee as she hadn't been at all this morning. Success in that area so I weighed her again and she was just 29.1kg. So the wee and pooh weighed 0.3kg - just in case you are interested you know!
Umm...... Think I need to stop checking in here when I'm eating my lunch!:cwl:
Hope the pain relief kicks in soon and she's more comfortable.

Small Black Dog - she was very petite as a puppy and has a very narrow nose that made her look small. On top of that all her Lab friends were much larger including a brother we still meet from time to time and all the rest of the dogs in the litter. Thus the name that I used on the "other" Labrador forum that's kinda stuck. In the last couple of years I've met a couple of Labs much smaller.

I hope the meds help Lady over the next few days. It sounds like she really enjoyed her outing and agree with the others that if asked, she would say she wanted to go. I have found hydrotherapy really helpful with Harley’s arthritis.

Otter is teeny tiny! Her paws are cute, with chocolate buttons instead of pads...she has a small head, neat waist and slender legs...she is my wee TCD...(Teeny Chocolate Dog) and weighs just under 25kg...:inlove::inlove:
Ella weighed in at 24.4kg last vet trip. I've always thought of her as petite, but never tiny.

I hope SBD© is feeling better very soon 🙂
