I can’t wait until our extension is done as the open plan living room / kitchen will back directly onto the garden with large patio doors that we can keep open on days like this. At the minute the living room is at the front of the house and only has 1 window that opens properly, so circulation in the house is poor.

It's now slightly cooler outside than it is indoors, so GGJ and I are sitting out for a short while. The garden table, marble ( not solid marble, not that posh) is deliciously cool. Tempted to sleep on it tonight!

I'm too high up to get flooded, but I have friends who are just completing the second total refurbishment of their ground floor since 2015 due to flooding. I so much feel for them. This was their starter home and has been on the market now for four years as they want something a bit bigger and with a garden but they have had very little interest.

Just had the first distant rumble of thunder! Should really be off to bed now, but would so love to see the storm! Joy's very settled and happy, so why not,? This is surely the point of being retired, to be able to sit and wait and see what happens? This might just be a little bit of magic in the making!

There’s a realtime lightning website Real Time Lightning Map where you can track the storms. It’s worth a look, because they can be creeping up when they’re not forecast. It’s fascinating and gives an idea of the severity too.

Had to give up in the end and go to bed! Lightweight! If there was a storm I slept through it, which is normal for me. There is evidence of a good downpour though and it feels like there's plenty more to come.
Sounds dreadful, I saw some of the pictures as I still have Fife stuff pop up on my Facebook. I’m waiting to hear from my daughter in Markinch to see if she’s ok.

We use it all the time here and it's really accurate. I guess it's just saying it's not to be used for accurate predicting, putting your life in your danger etc. Normal disclaimer against the lack of taking responsibility for your own idiocy
