What made you smile today?

oh gosh @HAH we had a five day power cut back in Nov 2001 which I remember vividly.
day 1 - fish and chips
day 2 - meal at MIL
day 3 - sandwiches
day 4 - more fish and chips.

I remember my work colleagues were most worried about my ability to (not) dry my hair. My hair? least of my worries.
We were electric only then, and all heat came from the coal fire in the kitchen, with water and minimal radiator heat coming from the electric pump. So we couldn't even get a decent coal fire as couldn't activate the electric switch to disperse the heat.

OH went and got socially-distanced fish and chips 🥳
@Natalie that’s EPIC. The shine would definitely disappear after the first 24 hrs...

(We’re back on by the way)
It was vile at the time... but now, it makes a great story and I can point out the candle wax scar on my arm from the great power cut of 2001!

Just to say a big thank you to everyone on the wednesday skype call tonight, who have made me infinitely better and more normal about the issues I'm having with Bear /Monty right now, I think it's so easy to gloss over some of the problems we have with our dogs - whether they are puppies or older - it's nice to know that this is simply normal, and we don't have to pretend everything is ok all, or even some of the time.
