A traumatic morning.

Here she is in her leotard to stop her from licking her stitches. She's still subdued but nothing like as poorly as she was when she had that terrible abscess a couple of years ago so I'm not too worried. I think it's the anaesthetic, as I said earlier, also probably the shock. The vet said to give her about half her normal amount of tea incase she was sick. I did and she was distinctly unimpressed, so I waited an hour then gave her the rest and she seems a bit more settled now.
Poor little girl.

the vet who knows Joy best told the Police that their name for Joy at the surgery is 'Gentle Joy'
She's a GJ as well as a GGJ 🄰

Phew, I bet it made you feel relieved when she was wanting her full dinner! Hope you have a good sleep and she's happy in the morning x

That’s a very good sign! Thinking of you both, you might be feeling very tender and bruised tonight so make sure you wrap yourselves in comfort (maybe a bit of George Ezra?) and a gentle night for both of you  You’re both incredibly brave x
Oh, Harriet @HAH ! You are nothing short of a total genius! GGJ and I are alright but it's not a normal evening and we don't know quite what to do with ourselves .
Nothing available on screen quite hits the spot tonight. We're often very happy with the sound of the stove roaring and the wind wuthering but tonight a little more distraction is called for and cheerful chappie George could be just what we need particularly 'Hold my girl '
Thankyou xxx

Hooray! I think there’s a compilation of him at Glastonbury 2019 on iPlayer here: Glastonbury 2019 - George Ezra
Incidentally, ā€˜Hold my girl’ always makes me happy cry as it was playing on the radio when I finally got my PhD.
Don’t forget you’re both on special rations tonight so it’s totally acceptable for GGJ to have an extra kong, and you to have an extra snifter of Baileys or whatever you fancy. Then bed for both of you, for tired nature’s sweet restorer to work its magic. And there are many friends around the globe willing you both to feel a ton better in the morning xxx

Thanks, have both of those recorded, but just want music and no pictures tonight, so have a CD playing by the Fireinametalbox. GGJ is in bed now, sound asleep (Yes, I keep checking her resps, once a nurse and all that) Will just finish this glass, then maybe a mug of hot milk with honey, nutmeg and the merest smidgen of medicinal brandy. That's what usually sorts me out following a trauma.

 Candy. Just catching up with this. What a terrible shock and how fortunate that those scaffolders were so supportive. I’m glad GGJ is safely home and enjoying her Kong. Sleep well tonight, both of you. x

I'm just catching up too and I am so so very sorry this happened Candy. Of all the gentle, unassuming little dogs, how could this happen to our GGJ? I hope they catch him and he gets fined and whatever else the courts can throw at him. What a complete *unmentionable* to walk away from you and your bleeding dog. Karma, if nothing else, will get him

How is G-GGJ this morning? And yourself?

When Snowie was attacked (three puncture wounds, didn’t need stitches), he later couldn’t move because he was so stiff from the incident. Just after the attack he was ok—in fact, I didn’t realise he’d been bitten because we were on a mountain path and Snowie was behind a large boulder when I heard an altercation and then saw a man yanking his own dog by the tail and yelling at it. Snowie came walking back, slowly, but the man said nothing, just watched Snowie, and I was none the wiser. But at home I then saw blood and then later, Snowie couldn’t move without screaming in pain. I guess he must’ve tensed up massively during the attack and later his muscles ā€œfroze upā€. I hope GGJ is feeling okay this morning? Just so horrible horrible horrible to have been attacked.
