We have to wait in the carpark at our vets until we're called inside. Only one person and animal allowed in the waiting room at a time. Not allowed into the clinical room, but our kind vet does as much as he can with Joy in the waiting room so that she can at least still see me and hear me talking to her.

Glad Red’s paw is sorted out. What a relief! It must’ve been so painful. Today Snowie suddenly stopped on our walk, leg at a funny angle. He had a devils thorn stuck in a pad. Maybe a couple of mm in. Poor Red with a 1/4 inch penetration!!! The pain!!

Good girl Red , so pleased that pesky thorn is no more x
Our Covid numbers are quite high especially in the nearby town where the Vets are , so we have to wait in our car until the nurse comes out to check us in . When Reubs had Kennel Cough , the Vet came out and took him into the surgery but we werent allowed in , payment is card only over the phone x

We don't even get called inside. We pull up, they get Shamas, and they bring him back out. I wish they'd install a portapotty because it's a couple hours wait sometimes. (yes, I know, covid... I was just complaining lol) I shall learn to pee in bushes:giggl:

Glad the vet got the thorn out. Hope Red is ok. Harley limped on and off for a few days after, but by day 3 she was 100% back to normal.

Glad that is all sorted, poor Red it must have been painful. Maisy had a sore patch between her toes a few days ago and she wouldn't let me near it, it is so hard to see as well. I don't think I would have spotted a thorn.

I’m glad it was sorted out quickly and Red seems ok.

It’s worth keeping some old-fashioned plasters handy - the stretchy fabric sort. Throw away the bit with lint on and put the sticky bit directly onto the thorn or splinter and it will draw it out after a while. It was best to take Red to the vet, though, as it would have been difficult to stop Red walking on her paw.
