The stiff wind hit me in the face like a knife as soon as I opened the door to venture out on our walk attempt this afternoon. Dear Lord but you can’t even imagine how painfully cold. A very very quick turn around the block and that was it. Probably -40 or so with the wind. Last night it was recording -55 with wind chill. The wind was really howling.

Red is back from her early walk. It’s -2 here and there is a snowy covering everywhere. Yesterday after our walk she was furiously licking her paws. I had wiped them but in the end I washed them and put Mushers Secret on them which stopped the excessive licking. Today, I rubbed it on her paws before her walk

The sun is out and I am so pleased that I have winter tyres on my car.
The canals are starting to freeze properly now and everybody is trying to buy or swap ice-skates as it is going to get colder!!

It is currently -9°C here and our hot water supply is frozen, so no hot water in the bathroom!
I have just spent ages digging snow/ice from where the cars are parked so I can put salt down and hope it thaws! I have been struggling to park the last couple of days as it’s so icy. Hopefully mum will be able to park a bit easier now when she gets home from work this evening

Both of our vehicles refused to start today. Can’t say I blame them, mind...hopefully we can get at least one going tomorrow. By end of tomorrow should be warmed up to -17.

I heard that Canada is experiencing a very rare weather pattern in which all of the provincial capitals will be below freezing for three days. Which is quite incredible because Victoria (BC) hardly ever freezes. So we’re all in this together!!
