Weather

Not too windy here yet. We are off work today & had booked to go shooting at 10am - It's not forecast to get bad until 12....but we decided to cancel - it's a very tree-lined route to get there & back - the alternative route over the mountain is already closed. Everyone is being advised not to travel after 10. (good job I'm off work then - I normally leave at 12:30 - another tree-lined route). It was trying to rain when I poo-picked the garden a moment ago, but it's stopped for now. We'll walk the dogs together in a bit.

I think it’s wise to stay put if you can, we are on the edge of the ‘red zone’ and it’s definitely picking up, I feel for those nearer the coast. All the noises are making Neo a bit edgy so we are currently playing the old classic ‘kibble in a bottle’ which thankfully makes enough noise of its own to drown the rest out 🙂

It's picking up here too and my son just got sent home from school. He cycles to school and all teachers and pupils are sent home! Online lessons instead to the upmost disgust of my teenager! Also trains are being cancelled, flights cancelled. Hunter is normally quite chilled but he was none too pleased about the constant ear flapping this morning and he seems a little on edge.
Keep safe everyone and please steer clear of walking under trees if you have to go outside. X

We went up to the Moor quite early thismorning, hoping to get a tree-less walk in before the storm started. Just as we got there the wind began gusting and the hail came at us horizontally. We braved it for about an hour and once again the only other dogs we saw were Spaniels and Labradors. Then we headed back down the hill, the wind dropped and the sun came out! It's forecast to start getting really bad here at about 3pm, so it's going to be a very quick nip outside to do the essentials for Joy and I'm spending the afternoon making bread, cheese scones and a casserole with dumplings on top that I meant to cook yesterday but decided to leave until today as I had other stuff that needed eating up. Joy seems not the slightest bit affected by the wind, rain and hail, just her usual happy little self, hoping that I might need some 'help ' with the cooking!
