Still wuthering around here, but closer to what's normal here for the winter months ( we live in an exceptionally windy street, due to the combination of canal and two blocks of flats which between them create a kind of vortex) so not worried any more. Wasn't too worried to start with tbh, over the 22 years I've lived here I have pretty much learned how to make sure everything is windproof. No greenhouses or pergolas for us here on Gale Terrace!

Internet is out, but politely lasted until the end of my last work meeting at 8:30 pm. Power has been off and on but mainly on. No damage that I can see from my little perch upstairs. Overall I think (knock on wood) we got off pretty easy.

Now if the internet comes back by tomorrow morning, that would be lovely. 😊

I'm still working with my fitness coach and he told me just to put on my windbreaker and get outside anyway. I wanted to say, "Have you looked at the news, mate?" 😂

No, seriously, I'm not getting out there to get smacked in the head by a tree limb. It really would be just my luck!

Which balmy state is your fitness coach based @Emily_Babbelhund ?
He's in Vancouver, which is renowned for horrible weather. He knows very well that I'm a wimpy Californian who agrees with Carbon that wet from above is best enjoyed from a cozy sofa. So...I'm guessing that he really HASN'T seen the news and doesn't know that Eunice is battering us.
Or maybe he thinks dodging flying tree limbs would be good agility training for me? :sheeproll:

Either directly on my mobile or using my mobile to tether to my laptop so that I can use my mobile data to give me connectivity on my laptop.

I'm actually really lucky as BT in the area is out for both wifi and mobile. So my home wifi (BT) is out, but my mobile (Vodafone) is up, so (knock on wood), I can just suck down my mobile data allowance.

Some trees down here, also some big branches. We stuck to the towpath for our morning walk and it was very quiet for a Saturday. The rain got thicker and thicker as we trudged along and now we have sleety wet snow. Here is GGJ looking distinctly unimpressed, though I suspect that was due to the fact that we were on our way home rather than the weather!20220219_113433.jpg

I didn't know that was possible! When my wifi was down yesterday, my phone didn't access wifi! I have an I-Phone and am with BT. So as I don't have Vodafone that is probably the reason.

It's not wifi, it's mobile data. Could you access anything online through your phone? To make sure you have mobile data turned on, go to "Settings" then "Cellular" (or maybe "Mobile" on yours), then scroll down on the same screen and make sure you've ticked the toggle box to green for Safari or whatever else you want to access using mobile data when you're wifi isn't available.

If it's working, go to "Settings" then "Personal Hotspot" to enable tethering. Tick "Allow others to join" and you'll see "Wifi Password" directly under it. Then go to your laptop, pick your phone as your wifi name instead of your usual home wifi name. Enter the password and you're in. Going forward , your PC should remember the password so you don't have to do all that again.

Now, having written ALL that :giggl: I am no tech person and those intructions may be different if you have a different phone and PC than I do.
