What made you smile today?

No need to apologise, only shared thus with a few folk on the forum.

It's so good to hear he is heading in the right direction. It must have been a stressful time for all of you.

On a different note we had Rowan's proper birthday party today and it was awesome. His friends are such sweet little kids and played really well. Their parents are also really nice and it was a very relaxed event. Plus my cake turned out rather well!

My little grandson has just finished his first year at school. He’s had the most amazing year but most importantly it has been recognised and commented on many times that he is a sweet kind hearted little boy who always tries hard at everything. I love that his parents (they have 4 children) are teaching respect, consideration, thoughtfulness, kindness, resilience, gratitude and positivity - it shines through ❤ and certainly has me smiling today 😄

Today it has poured with rain all day. On our morning walk the river was much too high for Joy to have her usual swim, much to her disappointment, and then at the field where she usually meets her friends....No Friends!:'(:saddog: Back at home it wasn't much better, too wet to leave the back door open, for her to wander in and out as she pleased and too wet for games in the garden with Loki, her nextdoor Spaniel friend. Eventually she just went back to bed, poor girl! Then I remembered that in the back of a cupboard there were some sachets of chicken and vegetable wet dog food that I had bought to surreptitiously hide some tablets in, so I added one to her usual teatime kibble to cheer her up. As I was opening the sachet and mixing it in Joy did her Veryvery best Sit, staring adoringly at me, with a long stream of drool coming from each side of her mouth and when I put her bowl down, she ate it whilst wagging her tail hugely! She seems to have been happy ever since and I so love having a dog who it's so easy to cheer up! Truly a dog after my own heart!

I am looking after my Mum whilst my son, brother and Dad have a boy's trip to Scarbados aka Scarborough. Mum has nodded off again watching Countryfile. They were both worried about being separated as my Dad is the chief carer. He really did not want to go this morning. He needs the break.
My Dad just rang crying with tears and laughter. They went to throw my Auntie's ashes at North Bay. It's windy there.... You can guess what happened... The wind changed direction. My Auntie had a great sense of humour and I think she would be laughing away at what happened. All 3 generations giggling away like naughty school boys.

I am so glad the party was relaxed and fun. That smile says it all.

Joy and I caught the train to Rochdale yesterday, to go to a reunion party with some of my ex colleagues from the hospital where I worked for twenty years. It was a great (and rather late) evening and we had been invited to stay the night. Joy was much admired and loved by everyone and enjoyed all the attention. Today we returned home by bus as there was a rail strike. Once on the train and twice on the bus I was again asked if she was a Service dog, to which my standard reply is 'No, just a very good dog' so of course that made me smile. Then a young woman and her mother got on, the young woman sitting next to me and her mother opposite us. The young woman was stroking Joy and asked 'What's her name?' When I said 'Joy' she looked surprised, then said 'Mum, this is Joy!' Her mother gave a huge smile, then took out her mobile phone. She flicked through a few photos, then said 'This is our Joy!' showing me ............a picture of a pretty Black Labrador! I wondered if somehow I had misunderstood, but no, they also had a Black Lab called Joy! So we talked Labradors all the way until it was time for them to get off. A great journey home!
