Streams and summer ?

I read this yesterday but had to walk away I was so mad!

Is there anyone you can report this to? A park warden or the trust that owns the land. Of course nothing will come of it but if its recorded in a letter and email then they'll have to keep a record and something might be done in the future.

Poor Harley I hope she's feeling better very soon. :cry:I know how horrible it is to hear them whimpering and not be able to help. A similar thing happened to my old lab. He whimpered all night, it felt like all night anyway, after his foot was bandaged. I took him back to the vet the next day and they thought it may have been because his bandage was too tight, also why he wasn't weight bearing. Just a thought but maybe Harley will feel more comfortable when the dressing is changed.

I agree with Jen and maybe try loosening the dressing? I was wondering if she may need slightly different pain meds if she is very sore. Poor girl.... :(

I posted it on the Facebook group for the park and one of the local councillors messaged me to say they were sorry to hear about it and would get their groundsmen to clear it all up tomorrow and put a warning sign up. They are also going to speak to the local police to ask them to do some patrols around the area. I was I presed with his quick response.

I have lossend the bandaging a bit, but she’s still not weight bearing. I think it’s very sore as it’s the main pad and it was a very large chunk gone ?

UPDATE:
Been to the vets for a bandage change and unfortunately she has the start of an infection. The wound is gunky and oozing ?. She’s on antibiotics for the next 7 days and has to have another bandage change on Wednesday morning. I’m trying to work from home as much as I can as she still won’t weight bear and is very quiet and still not even asking for walks.

I hope the infection clears up and the healing process can begin. They become so unhappy and easily depressed when in pain. Sending lots of gentle cuddles.

Oh poor girl, and poor you- such a worry, hopefully the antibiotics will help with easing her pain as the infection clears up. Best of luck with managing time with her, it’s not easy x

Just catching up with this - poor Harley. What a horrible thing to happen. I’m glad your local councillor has responded quickly. Those responsible ought to see what their thoughtlessness had done and be made to clear up the stream (I was going to say ‘walk in it bare-foot’, but sadly that won’t happen.

I hope the infection clears up quickly and Harley soon feels more comfortable.
