    Tablets...

What worked with Harv for a good 95% of any tablets he needed to take (and at one time he was taking a lot of tablets of different types on a daily basis) was .... Primula! (its squeezy cheese - I never found it particularly tasty but Harv absolutely loved it). Its also great for putting on...

    Labrador hero

Labrador character trait analysis: 99% adorable attention seeker, constantly looking for belly rubs 1% 'Break into my family's home and I'll take your arm off all the way to the shoulder!' I think we are all so used to seeing the 99% that we forget that a Labrador attached to a body part by...

    Harvey

Thank you all for your very kind words. Just wanted to add this to show how great our vets were: In Loving Memory of Harvey Nobody ever told Harv that he shouldn't like going to the vets - he loved every visit, regardless of whatever treatment he was receiving :dug:

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

I'm in the 'No' camp too, Kate. Claim the maximum amount possible from the guilty party and if there is anything left over I'm sure people would be happy if you gave it to the Dogs Trust or RSPCA or something like that. Don't go easy on them - they certainly haven't made things easy for you.

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

I think Kate (Beanwood) mentioned this at some point but perhaps a local newspaper might be interested in running an article about what happened to poor Nelly. That may encourage the owner to do the right thing - and if it doesn't it may at least help to identify her for a civil claim.

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

Great to hear that Nelly is back home - I'm sure that she and you will feel a lot better for it. Obviously, Nelly's well-being must come first but, when you get a chance, do make sure that you make a police report and pursue payment of the vet bills from the responsible party.

    Pancreatitis in dogs

Friends of ours have just had their dog diagnosed with pancreatitis. As if this wasn’t bad enough, I get the distinct impression that the vet concerned doesn’t have much of a clue about it. The vet advised that the condition could be managed by dietary changes but … seemed pretty clueless about...

    Rourke Rest in Peace

Sonia, we're so sorry for your loss. Rourke was a lovely boy and you've made fantastic memories together - I realise that's little consolation at the moment but in time you'll be able to reflect on those memories with a smile. Take care.

    A sticky problem

Thanks all. I've contacted Lisa to see what her thoughts are. I'll pass these on to my dad in addition to what I've already suggested. The trouble is, I suspect it will be a case of 'You can lead a horse to water ...'. :headbang:

    A sticky problem

Hi all, Whilst not quite as desperate as the Blackadder scenario - "The stickiest situation since Sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun" - I do have a bit of a dilemma with my dad and his dog that I'd like to share and get some feedback on. My dad's email was as follows: " I don't...

    Poor Kipper was attacked

Hi Harriet, I’m so sorry to hear about the attack on Kipper. I hope that you are both recovering well. You did the right thing by taking him out again and I think it’s a good sign that he was happy to take the same route. Do you know anybody with a friendly Boxer that you could meet with? I ask...
