Poppy

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around for some time. It's all just been too much... and I didn't want to talk about my sadness. Just writing this now is making me start crying again. I really feel like I've been through an emotional wringer; first Poppy and then my mum.

I say good night to Poppy every evening, and I put a candle in a lantern on her grave, which we can then see from our living room window.

Anyway, here are some photos of my stunning, amazing girl as I like to remember her, back in her prime. She was an astonishing retriever - retrieving was her life. We took part in so many competitions together, and won quite a few too! She was so good - even my mistakes as a handler couldn't stop her. I just had to point her and she knew instinctively what to do.

Goodbye Poppy. You were my beautiful princess, and you are so much loved and missed.

Oh Karen, you do whatever you need to get through the next however long - one foot in front of the other, and no expectations from your friends here. What beautiful photos of your girl. She was made for you, and you loved her so well xxxxx

I'm so sorry you've been through this heartbreaking time, losing both your mother and Poppy. You did the very best you could for both of them under difficult circumstances and you have my admiration for that. Sending love and hugs to you and Merlin. It's good to have you back with us again.:hug::hug:
