    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

Sounds great! So pleased things are improving with darling Nelly. When I was a child, we always got marmite toast when we were sick! Cut into soldiers.

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

True. Me, too. It’s easy to write things here. But I was so incensed by the behaviour of that person. Re small claims court, I don’t think there are costs for the person making the claim?

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

It’s despicable that she hasn’t taken responsibility for her actions and her dog’s actions. I’m guessing she has the money to pay but was pulling the pity card by saying she needs to take a loan. And of course, by paying, she admits responsibility. Hopefully the police will take appropriate...

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

So pleased Nelly is home. And amazing that she seems to have adjusted to being on three legs. I’d imagine the pooing must be challenging. Poor little doggie. She is just so lucky to have you. xxx

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

It is a shock. I’d also be in tears. I’m pleased the mastiff owner called. She has no right telling you she’ll have to take out a loan. She might be trying to garner pity. I’d try to ignore her and just get on with the process of her paying for the costs. She needs to take full responsibility.

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

I can’t stop thinking of you and Nelly. What happened is everyone’s worst nightmare. I hope you all manage to recover quickly. At least she is a little dog and you can carry her and help her when she needs it.

    Chewie has a sore shoulder

Snowie had a slipped disc (L7/S1) at 4 years old. I thought that was the end of him. But thankfully he recovered. He had recurrences of severe back pain for a few years. But touch wood his back has been fine for years now. Stiff at times, but he is coming in for 13 years, so that could also be...

    Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

Oh no. This is terrible news. I am so sorry. I hope they manage to save her leg. I am thinking of you and wishing only the best for dear Nelly. I can only imagine the pain. I hope the mastiff owner has taken full responsibility. I am furious on your behalf.

The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Incredible photos!! Wow! Next level. Really sorry about the tooth. And the timing! I hope it’s all better now. If you ever need to wait till you can see a dentist, a clove is an excellent anaesthetic. You just bite on it.

    Gagging, infection on leg.

H He’s always soooo relaxed after a bath. And is so happy and waggily at the moment, really warms my heart.

    Gagging, infection on leg.

He loves being scrubbed (not keen though to stand in the shower, always trying his luck to escape). And he loves a good rub down! But I’m so reluctant to rub too much cos just with gentle stroking and I end up with loads of fur in my hand. It’s the top coat. It’s not normal shedding. He’s not...

    Gagging, infection on leg.

This is the fur (on the basin on the right) that came off during yesterday’s bath! Actually, it’s a shower—I use the hand shower inside the shower area. It’s wet fur, so it’s a solid clump. Amazing that Snowie has any coat left.

    Gagging, infection on leg.

Thank you @Jacqui-S, sharing your experience helps hugely. We were at the vet yesterday. He took a skin surface sample (used sticky tape on the groin area) and looked at it under a microscope. No bacteria, but a ton of yeast. He said Snowie has a massive yeast overgrowth. Likely as a side-effect...
