    What made you smile today?

I bought the connector and shower head thing from a company called ourlivesoutdoors - I'd never heard of them so was a bit dubious but it's actually perfect. The shower head can be set at lots of different 'speeds' so you can get a normal hose flow to fill a watering can or use it as a softer...

    What made you smile today?

I mentioned a while ago that we were getting a hot external tap to help with dog washing. It's been in for a few weeks now and is really good. So handy when Brodie has been rolling in fox poo or wallowing in swampy water. He is getting washed a lot more often!

    What made you smile today?

 I was searching for a song/recording called 'F*** the Home Office' the other day (long story). Instead of political protest I got a very very not-safe-for-work set of results about home-working!

    Bear's Teenage Training Log

Thanks Natalie, it's interesting to see. I wish I'd seen more training advice like this when I first got Jess, when I thought the priority was more socialisation and new experiences and I didn't understand when it was too much for her. It's definitely helpful to think about prioritising calm...

    Vaccination and lump investigation

I've just seen this Joy, am so sorry that the surgery is needed but agree with others that it is surely the best course of action and you are doing the right thing. I hope it goes very well tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and Molly.

    Bear's Teenage Training Log

Brodie is ball obsessed too - though he is just as excited by finding a static ball (maybe even more so) than chasing a thrown ball, so I don't have any ideas about how to build that interest @Natalie I used to think that ball-obsessed dogs are created by their owners constantly throwing...

    Beautiful. Hello Chester!

    Cooked bones - agh!

Fingers crossed for Bear, Natalie! He sounds like a dog with more than 9 lives. Hopefully it will be digested or come out safely. Brodie has pooped quite a few twigs or sharp-edged bits of wood and I have noticed that it tends to come out in thick mucousy poo which I assume is his digestive...

    If your dog faded away...

these are so lovely! Jess's ground-level swimmy wiggle (hopefully not her annoying shrill yap when she wants something). Brodie's languid paw when he wants more petting.

    What made you smile today?

I've just been thinking about this-time-a-year-ago when I took puppy Brodie out for Sunday lunch. Jess is a pain in restaurants as she always wants to make friends with everyone and I wanted Brodie to learn to settle quietly under the table while I read the paper and had lunch. Our table was...

    Hattie's Had a Mini Stroke :’(

So sorry to hear this. Hopefully the vet's best case situation will happen and she will recover to her normal self. In the meantime, she will know that she is safe and loved.

    Hello from a newbie!

Hello from me and my two not-labradors, Brodie and Jess. Brodie is also about to embark on a hypoallergenic diet so we can compare notes! Hope it works for you and Cooper.

    Your dogs day

Our dogs have a very predictable daily routine these days: 7ish wake up and out to garden to toilet, then breakfast. Jess goes up to the human bed for an hour and I usually cuddle Brodie on the sofa for a bit. 8ish morning walk for 30-40 mins. OH does this one during the week, I do it at...

    hypoallergenic dog foods?

Yes.... Our garage (really more of a large shed) is full to the brim with crap and also floods when it gets wet so that probably not a good option either! I spoke to the vet about the butternut box and she was quite positive about them and basically said it's up to me but gently suggested that...
