She is a bit quiet (understandably) but better than yesterday, and the diarrhea has stopped. She's getting lots of love and cuddles, and gentle trips down the garden. This afternoon we're going to take her over the road into the woods for a good sniff around; that will chirp her up a bit.

Absolutely agree with this. Rats are everywhere; the only real way to get rid of them is to eliminate their food source. So if you are feeding the birds; stop feeding them. If you have a compost bin, make sure you are only composting green stuff from the garden and kitchen, nothing that rats...

I absolutely agree, and am totally aware of just how poisonous tick and flea medications are. Our woods are literally crawling with ticks, which can also carry borreolosis in our area, but I don't use anything at all on Poppy (just check her all the time), and only the collar on Merlin - and...

Poppy continues to improve, though she still only wants to eat the special sensitive diet kibble. She is hungry for that though! She went for a 30 minute walk with Merlin and me this morning. One more vet visit tomorrow, and hopefully she will be ok by the weekend. Phew!
