    Stanley

I don’t know if I’m just imagining it but I think I seeing an improvement. He’s been a bit naughty the past few days. The other day he came upstairs and was refusing to go back down and had me chasing him everywhere and yesterday he nearly pulled me over to go and see another dog. I’ve asked...

    Stanley

Thanks all. It did make me chuckle as he was trying to escape and flailing around like a 4 stone fish out of water and the vet looked at me and was like low energy you say..? 😆

    Stanley

So we’ve been the vet. They think either starts of arthritis or thyroid. he wouldn’t let them take blood. He’s got a baldy neck but was flailing about too much for them to take blood. They have given us metacam for 7 days to see if it makes any difference. We have an appointment next Friday...

    Stanley

Thanks all. We’ve got an appointment for next week and we’re going to have a chat and they’ll see what they think/what the next steps are. I’ve had a chat with his dog walker to see what she thinks and she thinks he’s great on his walks with her and other dogs but she’s going to keep an eye on him.

Thanks all. You’ve confirmed what I thought. I’ll give the vets a ring and get an appointment for a check over.

    Stanley

I’m a little bit worried about Stanley. The past 6 months or so I have noticed a huge change in him. He just seems like he can’t be bothered. He probably sleeps 21/22 hours of the day now. When I take him for his walk he just plods along either next to me or behind me. Doesn’t get particularly...

    What made you smile today?

Ignore everything I said. I take it all back. Today the greedy fat pig broke into the cupboard and ate a full box of treats. A full box!!

    Pet Insurance

It’s insane isn’t it. We paid £25 for Stanley initially and now it’s £91. And I’ve claimed once for some lump removals which cost approx £500. I know our luck though and I’d cancel it and he’d injure himself 🥴

    What made you smile today?

Stanley is so chill now. He can come anywhere with us and he just sits down and watches. He happily let Rory play in the park while supervising 😍

When he sleeps with his feet’s all tangled up 🥹

    Mr Stanley Blue

I know a lab.. It’s a boy though. And he’s 8 so a bit older. And he’s black. And untrainable. I can deliver him tomorrow 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Privilege or right?

Oh I 100% think owning a pet is a privilege, especially a dog. For us, we need to be able to afford a dog walker to have Stanley. We also need to have family to help us out - for example we’re in the process of getting a new kitchen and Stanley’s been going to his nannas a lot. It’s also the...

    Lifespan

Stanley is our first dog and first Labrador. He’s 8 now. I try not to think about it because I instantly get a really tight feeling in my chest. So far, he’s doing really well. No arthritis yet or anything but he is slowing down. He’s fine, but the boisterous energy that was once there all the...

    Stanley’s diet

oh dear. I think it’s time to bring the dreaded diet back for Big Stan. He’s a chunky monkey. His head isn’t in proportion to his body:cwl:
