    Another FNA for Reuben

Reuben had his stitches out yesterday , a licki mat was prepared and waiting for him ,it is a godsend  The big wound, about 6 inches , on his inner thigh has healed really well but the small one of his hock is not doing so well . It was decided to remove the stiches on his hock and that...

    Another FNA for Reuben

Mast Cell cancers used to be graded as stage 1 , 2 or 3 , Reubens always stage 2 . New grading has now altered and has more or less lumped stages 1 and 2 together and named them as lower grade , 3 remaining high grade . Stage 2 is a bit iffy as it can become unpredictable but it is good news...

    Retrieving

I`ve not had this problem with Reuben but I did with Sam . I limited the retrieves , stopping them the minute he began to refuse to drop/leave . If you carry on, you may be setting him up for a fail so stop when you are ahead I say and lots of praise xx

    What made you smile today?

As you may know , my sister and husband are not doggy type people , their lives are so different to ours. I have been critical in the past but then realised that we are not all made the same and I should not hold her attitude against her . Reubens operation was very expensive and sadly not...

    Mr Stanley Blue

After losing Sam to cancer at just six years old , I swore not to have another dog . We had thought that we were just very unlucky with our dear boy and so when offered a pup by the same breeder we went to look , it didnt cross my mind that maybe having him would be a risk, or maybe it did and I...

    Another FNA for Reuben

Wound check went well , thanks to the Licki mat and liver paste which distracted him  He was reluctant to let Sue take the dressing off his hock but I managed to do it . Sue had to make a few small cuts of his hock to remove the lump so he had stitches , all looks really good and clean ...
