    New collar and lead

Stanley needs a new collar and lead Hubby has found a red dingo one -dog-collar-plain-turquoise-dc-zz-tq. I think it looks thin - not padded and the lead is quite short. So I need to suggest an alternative one. Any suggestions.

    Stanley is one!

It’s Stanley’s first birthday today. He had a lovely day going for a walk in Richmond Park where he was very good. Great recall and didn’t disgrace himself with chafing after other dogs or deer. Yesterday he had a great day Mantrailing.

    Chewing everything

Stanley will be one years old next week and still a big chewer. Chews on everything and needs to be watched all the time. He’s chewed up the hall carpet outside the bathroom while I quickly brush my teeth. I’ve been away this week and so hubby has had to watch him. I’ve just had a message to say...

    Muzzles for travelling

We are going to lake Annecy in France next week. We should get Stanley a muzzle to make things easier. There is a bus we can take along the lake and a muzzle would be helpful when out and about for peace of mind. Any suggestions?

    Teething chews

I gave Stanley some raw hide chews to gnaw on as he’s teething - and spends most oh his time trying to chew on me! He’s biting off chunks that are too large for him to digest safely. Last night he regurgitated three quite big chunks of the raw hide with some of his kibble dinner. Which was a...

    Hot cross buns!

Stanley has just eaten three hot cross buns. They contain raisins. I’m guessing at the moment that with all the cake part and that they were just sainsburys ones so maybe just a few radon’s in each bun he’ll be ok.

    Rats 🐀

We have rats 🐀 rats 🐀 rats 🐀 There’s a burrow to a nest in our front garden and I saw one in our cellar this evening. I’ve noticed evidence for about two to three weeks. Our neighbours also hear them scuttling about, one had a big chunk of bread taken from their kitchen. I have a pest...

    Barking in his crate.

Stanley has started barking more and more when left in his crate. He goes to sleep in his crate at 10pm and sleeps through to around 5am (occasionally though to 6am) without and noise. But putting him in his crate during the day if I need to go out or do something upstairs, he barks and howls...

    Puppy food

Stanley came home with a bag of Platinum puppy kibble which we have kept him on. This last week he’s had soft runny poop. I’ve given him probiotic but it’s not made a lot of difference. Homer was sensitive to chicken based kibble, but I only changed when he was a bit older. I think I could try...

    Ears back

I'm not thinking too seriousely about buying a trained dog as I'd rather rehome from a resue. Most of the trained dogs are usually between 9 months a two years old...

    Mr Stanley Blue

I've started searcning for a dog. Nothing will replace Homer who has left such a huge hole in my heart that needs to be filled. Hubby is still somewhat reluctant but I'm going ahead anyway. I'm going on the advice from our local priest on this matter who said 'ask for forgiveness later '...

    Animals you are scared of

I'm, not quite sure where this random thought goes... While supervising kids on a cross country race they were talking about dogs being scared of big dogs or little dogs. Then they asked me "Miss what animals are you scared of?" I replied without much thought "chickens" I honestly am a bit...

    Mice!

We have a mouse infestation! With Homer being sick, there is plenty of food for them betweem the floor boards and everywhere! I've put out humail traps but not caught any. Our house is old with gaps all over the place. I don't think getting a cat would be an option as Homer chases cats and I...
