    Challenging night

I feel your frustration and lack of sleep. Any consolation, we had a horrible time trying to get Stanly to sleep through the night in his crate. I think I noted most of it on Stanly's thread (Mr Stanley Blue). He started off well but then when he upgraded to a bigger grate it all went wrong and...

    Hello from Karen and Cassie

Welcome! I now have 11 month old Stanley after loosing Homer last year. We are slowly working through the nipping stage, chewing on chair legs into the jumping up stage...

If the lower dose of Prednisone works then that sounds like a good solution. SLeep - what's a bit of lost sleep when looking ofter an older dog or a younger dog that still needs to come up for cuddles at 2am. All dogs are so different. There two other dogs locally who were almost the exact...

    Tablets...

We tried different ways with Homer when he was ill. One was to put the tablet in a syringe with a little water then pull the syringw back a few times blocking the small end with your thumb to create a suction wivh helped disolve the tablet then squirt the disoved solution down his throat.

    What made you smile today?

I've got out Homer's old red one for Stanley but its a bit big for him - evidence that Homer was bigger than little Stan-man. So he will obviously need his own blue one for Christmas. And a new big boy collar.

    What made you smile today?

I’m so jealous. We have loads of blackberries on the common but they are all quite small and lots are just shrivelled up before being ready to pick.

The hardest part about owning a dog is knowing that the inevitable will happen. We give them the best lives we can for as long as we can then eventually it’s time to say goodbye. The goodbye will always feel like it’s come too soon, some sadly sooner than others. It’s a very personal...

I am so sorry that the decision is looming. It’s so hard to see them in pain and fading away when there is still love in their eyes. When Homer was poorly everyone said ā€œ you’ll know when it’s timeā€ I couldn’t really believe that and wondered and waited and did everything I could to help him...

    Mr Stanley Blue

I’ve noticed in the last week that Stanley’s encounters with other dogs has changed. He’s more interested in female dogs bottoms. More concerning, some other male dogs have reacted to him a bit more aggressively. He has always been very social and playful and now I see him being a lot more...

    Charity giving...

I have a little line I give them which is true so I don’t feel bad. I listen about the charity then say ā€œI have a few charities that I support already which I review once a year, I’ll add your charity to my list for next time I change over the charities I gave to.ā€ This usually works but I did...

Stanley lovey chewing wood - unfortunately our furniture is made of wood. I got some bitter apple spray to save the furniture. There was a bit of a comotion upstairs and he came down with the spray in his mouth which he'd taken off my desk. I took it away from him although was half tempted to...

    Mr Stanley Blue

Could be there were a few small ticks on him. Not sure if I should take him to the vet or just spend a day or so to wait and see as its not bothering him at all.
