A very agitated Bear - and effects of Suprelorin

Well I know my dog walker definitely won't walk Bear with today's dog again, certainly. There's no benefit for them having a dog that won't leave another one alone on a group walk. It's too late to change tomorrow's group walk, but if he still seems on edge tomorrow I will see if I can change Friday's walk to a solo one.

To think I was actually considering when he was a tiny puppy that we might breed from him.🤦🏼‍♀️
OH has talked me down a bit and just told me to stop stressing about it for now, and worse case scenario we pay extra for walks with just him and Monty for a while till things either improve, or he is castrated. Realistically we aren't going to do anything until after 21 june when we get back from our break in Wales.

A wise decision Natalie. Sometimes it's not about science or anything else, it's about what's best for you, your family and your dog. Have a good rest and think. Best not to make a decision whilst you're upset. xx

Which part of Wales are you going to? x

That's what I do just let things settle. He's just a sexy teenage boy. He's had an upset. You've had a stressful time. You've got time to sort it out either way Bear will be fine. Today's just been a bit much. I've mostly had boys so I know what to expect they are all very different.

He also told me to stop over explaining on our group dog walking whatsapp as I was coming across as a neurotic dog mum 🤭

We are going to Dolgellau, not far from Barmouth, my friend lives there and has a large caravan in her grounds, it's pretty secluded and we can go on walks (Snowdon is on the list) and leave Monty with my friend. I may have mentioned Bear is staying with our dogwalker 🤞

Sounds wonderful Natalie, just what you need. I am sure you will have a great time. As for the guilt, stop. You did what you had to do. My friend had her dog neutered at 6 months because he tried to mount Hattie 7 months, once! Now that's a snap decision and one she never felt any guilt over. xx

I've only ever had one phantom pregnancy ( that was our sweet Barley, not me!) Apart from that my girls have been spayed three months after their first season as I've never intended to breed from them. Always a little bit sad about this, but for the best in the long run I think.

most dog walkers, daycares and boarding require both genders done at 6 months!
Goodness, really? I don't think I've ever seen this mentioned at all in the Uk, and I've researched quite a few daycare / dog walker options. Certain breeds, and vaccinations are the only things I can think of that cause restrictions.

I wonder if Bear could board with Emma for a little while? She lives in Wales now doesn't she? Just a thought.

Moo was so poorly lost so much weight had a nasty phantom so we made the tough decision and had her spayed sooner than we wanted too. She was so down I couldn't put her through that again. It was the best thing we could do for her. After all like you I care more about my dogs well being rather than my personal tastes and opinions. It's all about the dog for me

She's about an hour away from where we will be, it did cross my mind but we might struggle for room in the car. Plus she might be completely horrified at his outrageous behaviour🤭. Though sounds like there are a few very determined pups in the litter, it's not just Bear.
