Adult teeth

Rourke is 12 years old and 31kg. I must have been very lucky, never had any teething problems with my 7 dogs, just noticed the odd tooth on the floor, but only a couple over the years.

You are quite lucky I would say

Ahm, Kipper’s weight is a sensitive topic… he should be around 32kg, and I suspect Stilton will end up around 29/30kg when he’s fully muscled. Stilton is slightly longer than Kipper already, but a finer structure and without the slight Drakeshead chonk that Kipper has. I think Stilton’s dad is about 32kg, and is relatively muscled as a working triallist.
I love that Axel was mindful of his size I’m sure Hugo will be too, he sounds like he has a lot of emotional intelligence x

He’s just about there then and they will be very similar in size it sounds like

So far Hugo is not mindful of his size but I’m hoping as he matures he will be more mindful

@Kelsey I’m lucky Hunter does spit most of the bits of stick out. The garden is covered in piles of shredded stick. I loose track of the number of times I tell him to drop just in the garden. He’s very good he does then immediately finds another.

Hugo really is a bonnie pup at 28kg already. He’s going to be a gorgeous big Labrador. I can’t believe Axel was 50kg. They certainly breed big Labradors over there in Canada. I think Hunter could be going through a growth stage too which might possibly be another reason he’s fidgety at night and doing a lot more downward dog stretches. When it comes to Hunter’s food I’m working on him being about 30kg when fully grown only because Scott and Scout were 28kg and Murphy was 35kg. He’s bigger than S&S already but I don’t think he’ll be quite as big as Murphy. Murphy was bigger bone. Of course I could be wrong it’s difficult to judge.

That’s great Hunter’s ‘drop’ cue is very strong, but difficult when there are so many temptations around. All we can do is keep pushing through, eventually it will stop. I remember Axel had a big stick fetish too and one day it just stopped. I actually convinced myself during this phase with Hugo that Axel was never stick obsessed… but looking back at videos it all jogged my memory But there is light at the end of the tunnel at least!

I honestly think Axel’s ‘Breeder’ did inbreeding or something sinister to produce massive dogs. They were all huge males and he seemed to pride himself in that. I never met any of the females until recently, and she was quite dainty. And every dog I’ve met of his has had health issues except this one female who belongs to one of my co workers. Super unfortunate

It is difficult to judge but you are probably right with your guess, or at least very close! Yes, I’m sure growing is a bit uncomfortable for them, so could be adding to him being fidgety along with finishing up teething
