Another bad Injury!

Had a fantastic walk this morning with Harley, no reactiveness even though 2 small dogs ran up barking in her face. Near the end of our walk she spotted Baxter (her lab friend) and ran the 20 foot to him, and somehow sliced open her paw. Took her straight to the vets and she is currently in surgery as the slice is very deep and large. I’ve decided not to take her to this place again as this is the 5th bad paw injury she has had over there. Just waiting on the phone all now to hopefully pick her up. Feeling really shite atm

Poor Harley, that sounds nasty, at least she can be seen quickly by the vet. It sounds like there is a lot of broken glass in that spot, good idea to avoid it from now on. The waiting is always nerve-wracking, but don't worry she is in good hands.

Just picked her up as the vets called to say she was awake and very distressed. I could hear her howling in the background. They said it was a clean slice and needed internal and external stitches. Lead walks only for at least 7 days. Got to go back on Tuesday for the wound to be checked and bandage changed. As you can see, she’s very unhappy

Poor Harley and poor you! So sorry!! I wouldn’t go back to that place! Maybe the village counsel can take some action? Or the vet can help you with this?

Poor little love. That sounds like a very sharp item that cut her - razor blade, broken glass? I hope you can avoid that place in future @Naya . Its so difficult with few places to easily get to and then to find them dangerous

It was the worst cut/slice to date. Vets said it was very deep, but luckily a clean slice so we are guessing it was glass
I’ve put a note on the Facebook page for this area as I know several local councillors are on it as well as other dog walkers.
She’s currently asleep on the floor so I think she’s really tired. Thank you for all your kind wishes xx
