Labradors are full of love, life and joy. What some people might see as naughty is just their way of exuberantly celebrating life. When training them you will need patience in spades but if you make it fun for them you will reap the rewards for their entire lives. Be consistent and always positive with them. Never set them up to fail. Keep the training sessions short and always end on a win. Always have pockets full of treats as labs are led by their stomachs.
During adolescence they can seem as if they are trying to upset you or make you mad. They are not. Like human teenagers they are just trying to find their place in their world. This is where consistency pays off. Shouting or getting upset will just make the situation worse.
Sometimes you will have to go back to basics with recall, sit, down etc. Always reward their good behaviour and never punish their "bad" behaviour.
Stanley is just gorgeous and clearly loves you deeply. It is great to have both of you with us.
