Thank you everybody. Today has been hard as we had tell the kids by text. I didn't want to call them and have them hearing me cry. They were all little sad but all said it was kindest thing to do.
We miss our little man but we know he will never feel ill or in pain again.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bear and your loss of such a wonderful friend of nearly 20 years. He always sounded like such a tough little dynamo.

My belief is that after their bodies wear out, their spirits stay with us for as long as we need them. Then when we get stronger they still visit whenever they like. Right now Bear is running around you pain free and young again...
