Beautiful Bella

Oh Bella Bellissima! I’m so thrilled for all of you, and especially your little golden Nugget  she has found her place and three million cheers it’s with you. She really is your muse as Emily so beautifully observes - maybe she’s also a talisman for photography evolutions to come?
Rough on her poor little anus, it’d be interesting to know if she’s lacking the ability to completely control it full stop (e.g. irreversible nerve damage) or if it’s more of a nervous system communication issue that may change over time. Fingers crossed it’s the latter, and hopefully the steroid cream will help. Great that it’s not bothering her. You really are a fantastic pair of hands for any animal!

Bella continues to make us laugh with her little ways. We’re slowly making progress with calm behaviours instead of her losing her shit with everything that is exciting in her world - which is pretty much everything. It seems once she understands the outcome of the process happens in time, she’s prepared to wait for it.

When there are treats on offer, she’s hysterical. She reminds me of the kid in the old panoramic school photos who would run from one end of the set to the other and end up in the shot twice. As soon as she has her treat, she moves into position next in line after the subsequent recipient, and again, and again.
Training is fun but slow because she finds it all so exciting, she struggles to actually think. We have a decentish hand target and a spin (CCW) is coming on. The turn (CW) isn’t ready to go on cue yet, but soon. She’s learned to hop up on obstacles and do two paws on.

Her stay is pretty non-existent, a byproduct of the need to be inside my skin most of the time. So we’re slowly working on that, but it’s going to be a long road. She’s also learning to wait her turn when I chuck a ball. And her “Bellaspitthatoutyoudisgustinghound”is coming along nicely, too.

No change in her bum issues, and I think we’re where we’re at with that now.Trying to keep her away from the fallen olives and carobs helps because those don’t bind so well inside and a quick shake can lead to poomageddon. It’s not runny per se, just pebbledashing of undigested stones.

She almost always sleeps with her tongue sticking out and it stays out for ages after she wakes up, which is ridiculous and ridiculously cute 😁

Darling glorious Bella, what a fantastic update to read - thanks Fi! And that video is just :inlove: - her sleepy scruffled hair and tongue, she’s just fabulous and edible:heart:

Oh she is adorable, just look at her fuzzy wuzzy bedhead! :inlove: :inlove:
It’s super cute and utterly ridiculous😂

The other day on our walk, the wind was coming from behind me, so every time she turned round to look at me, it smoothed it down. It looked really weird, we’re so used to her Orville look 😁

I can neither confirm nor deny that we brush it up at every available opportunity 🤪

If I had a spaniel I'd put coloured mousse in it. Something completely harmless but very purple or orange or green. You know, depending on the time of year.

You could do green with a bit of tinsel for the current season...just for example. :giggl:

I'm not sure how I missed this reply back in early December, but Bella is infinitely grateful that I did :giggl:

How is Bella doing @snowbunny
Thanks for asking, she's doing great! Laying asleep next to me on a bed, snoring her little head off right now.

I'm going to have to get her a jacket because when it snows heavily, she gets so many snowballs she actually can't move, poor little thing. She had to come home early from yesterday's evening walk because she was too bogged down with them.

But here's a picture of her from the day before the heavy snow, when she could still move :D
