Beautiful Bella

I’m glad there’s an option of a surgical fix - do you know, if successful, how much of the problem this will address? Or is it a bit exploratory? I hope all goes as well as it can, and hopefully it’ll make a big difference to her and your quality of life as far as pooing goes :fingers::poo:
It's not a fix for her incontinence, that's a far more profound problem. This is to hopefully fix the prolapse and keep her insides where they belong - on the inside! From what I can gather, there are two options: one is that everything is (very carefully) manipulated back inside where it belongs and then a sort of elastic cord is attached inside which allows stools through but prevents the insides coming out. The other is more involved and means stitching the colon to the side of the abdomen to keep it in place. Dr Google has also brought up some unsettling possibilities where the anus is detached from the rectum, which is then chopped shorter before being reattached. :|

Wow. Well good luck to that surgeon, however they tackle it. Sending stacks of the good lamby work her way and yours for Wednesday :thelambiesarecoming::thelambiesarecoming:

Thanks everyone. If you’re not faint hearted, the hidden image below is from this morning’s walk. She’s poopy because she’s a little soft at the moment so wearing her night time nappy gets messy, and I shower her when we get back from the walk, because if I do it before she needs showering twice (and she hates it).

The brown at the top is just plant matter.

You can see how sore, bleeding, and inflamed it is, because that bit should all be inside.

Oh, the poor little sweetheart, that looks so sore! I rather wish that I'd looked at that after I'd finished eating lunch, but I can't claim that you didn't warn me! Here are some Lambies from me and GGJ, who, by the way would absolutely adore Bella . :thelambiesarecoming::thelambiesarecoming::thelambiesarecoming::thelambiesarecoming:

Damn, that’s not comfy is it - really pleased you’re getting it looked at before heat and flies complicate things further. I really hope it’s a (relatively) straightforward procedure.

Actually had a horrible time tonight. There was a dog barking somewhere close by, all the gunfire ran outside and Bella squeaked and ran back. She was just outside the door at the time, the only thing that could have happened was one of the others brushing past her. But her prolapse was completely skinned and just a mass of blood, dripping on the floor. So awful. Any hesitation I had before about the surgery disappeared. She can’t carry on like this. She’s so stoic, bless her, but there’s no way that wasn’t terribly sore.
